Kanzashi Blumen - Kanzashi flowers

Recently a booklet with instructions for Kanzashi flowers has caught my eye on Amazon. I had no idea what it is, but the pictures were sooo adorable, that I had to buy it

As soon as the book arrived I had to try it and the descriptions and pictures made a start really easy.

Also, los gehts...
So, let's begin...

Everything that's required are 5 squares with 7.5cm and 5 squares more with 3.5cm lenght, a button, needel and yarn and a felt circle with a 4cm diameter.
The button and the fabrics are from Tschibo.

First you have to fold the squares in half an sew the sides. But not do strong, for they have to be ruffeld as next.

Repeat that step with each one of the squares. As soon as they are sewed together, bead them on a string. To make the flower a little more stable, I have sewn it flower leaves with a few stitches together.

Afterwards, put the blossoms on each other and fixate them by sewing them together. Then add the button and sew it from the rear.

As finish, glue the felt bottom to the back.

So, das war's...
Well, that's it...

I have added a safety pin to the back of the fower, because I'd like to use it as a broche. I think it suits great to a denim jacket...
